I've only read Kira Kira but have such a poor memory of it! It didn't seem to leave much of an impression.
I was unaware of the issue with the tenses in the Draper book! I don't think you'll find that in Out of My Mind, but I will warn you that it's MG, not great literature, but good.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6180270161844980828.post-37464821477804790842010-03-22T12:51:43.162-04:002010-03-22T12:51:43.162-04:00I actually really like the cover (but I also like ...I actually really like the cover (but I also like elephants). Also, I really, really, really want to read Cracker mainly because there's a German Shepard on the cover and I like that breed a lot. Weird, right? Anyways, I'm adding Million Shades of Grey to my TBR because it sounds awesome and you compared it to Book Thief which means it's a must read!!!April (BooksandWine)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15268544465552896599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6180270161844980828.post-85010839418196182762010-03-22T06:50:30.693-04:002010-03-22T06:50:30.693-04:00@Doret,

I love it, but I don't know how influenced I am by the fact that I already love the author and don't care about the cover, and just love it so much more after I finished the book. For me, when I was done, and turned back to stare at the cover, I was like, overcome by love. *_* But I know where you're coming from. This cover is not shiny in the least.

@Mardel

lol you must be thinking of a different book because this novel only came out this January.yuanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13106464795070487558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6180270161844980828.post-89209603105125593842010-03-22T05:33:03.138-04:002010-03-22T05:33:03.138-04:00I like this cover. I've never read any of Kadohata's books, but I do remember a few years ago a sixth grade boy recommended this book to me. He wasn't a big fan of reading either, so it must have really made an impression on him.Mardelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00063358136590143066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6180270161844980828.post-61337225799151905042010-03-22T00:19:34.287-04:002010-03-22T00:19:34.287-04:00What, you are putting this up there with the Book ...What, you are putting this up there with the Book Thief, that's serious.

I was just looking at this book at work today. I am in the mood to read some books with male protagonist.

I am adding it to my queue right now. Thanks.

I don't like this cover. It doesn't say pick me up. I already know it won't help me convince readers to buy the book.Dorethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08676911030014718403noreply@blogger.com
